ABOUT JOHN HASTINGS

John's driving philosophy in business is, "What's in the best interest for my client?" With that attitude he has built a successful referral based business over the last 14 years and he has earned the opportunity to work with clients from coast-to-coast.

John grew up in the San Francisco Bay Area. He graduated from San Jose State University in 1988 with a BA in Speech Communication and a minor in Journalism.

While cramming 4 years of college into 6 years, 2 wonderful things happened in John's life. First, he married the woman of his dreams, Eloise. Second, he made a decision to follow Jesus Christ. After John graduated from San Jose State, he and Eloise began working for Campus Crusade for Christ's Student Venture ministry which is a non-denominational outreach to high school students. This adventure brought them to the Twin Cities where they worked until 1993.

In 1994 John transitioned from full-time ministry to the financial services industry as a financial advisor. He earned Rookie of the Year and Star Producer awards with The LeNeave Financial Group. John worked closely with clients as he advised them about their insurance and investment goals and needs.

In 1997 John was asked to help grow a start up mortgage company. His financial planning background was an enormous asset to helping him consult with his clients about their mortgage needs. Within a few years, this start up company grew to 15 offices in five states and John was promoted to the position of National Sales Manager.

John's background in Christian ministry, financial planning and mortgage sales and management development are the perfect compliment to Bell Mortgage. He enjoys being part of one of the most experienced teams of loan officers and support staff in the Twin Cities. With 14 years of mortgage experience (a long time for most loan officers in the mortgage industry), John has earned the prestigious designation from Bell Mortgage of President's Club  for his production, experience, and expert advice.

Happily married for nearly 25 years, John lives in Andover Minnesota with his wife, Eloise, and two of their five children.  The not-so-little Hastings range in age from 15 to 23. You can read about many of John's adventures as a dad and husband in his LAMPPOST newsletters.

When he's not doing his regular dad duties, John enjoys golf, basketball, downhill skiing, kayaking, working out, and long walks with Eloise.
